Sergio Toporek - CreativeMornings/Vancouver Event


Artist, designer and filmmaker Sergio Toporek was the speaker at the March 2nd, 2012 CreativeMornings/Vancouver event sponsored by Interlink Conference and hosted by W2 Media Café & GDC/BC. Toporek gave an eloquent and well-researched talk about the dangers of beautiful imagery in a consumption-driven world, the intricate relationship between the technology, regulation and social effects of visual representation, hegemony and the need for media education, and every creative professionals moral responsibilipy to not abuse our power. The Vancouver chapter of CreativeMornings is run by Mark Busse (@MarkBusse) and his dedicated team of volunteers. Thanks to Ryan Mah (@Unisonpress), Mahyar Saeedi (@MahyarSaeedi), Jake Hermiston and Matthew Shettler for video production. CreativeMornings is a monthly breakfast lecture series for creative types.
